Hi guys 

Today I am going to write about my experience sharing with all of you trough this blog.

As for the blogs I wrote, I think my favorite was "A show about a television programme from my childhood". Because it was something very easy and fun for me to write.

The truth is that I really like writing and I enjoyed blogging, but the blog that was about the British Council´s Learning English website was a bit boring.

I really enjoyed reading the blog that was about our hobbies, as I had fun seeing the photos of the things you guys did.

On the other hand, I think the blog was very useful to improve my English, by writing and reading in English I think I gained a lot of vocabulary that I didn't have before.  

Regarding the blog, I really liked that we could interact with each other through this website and comment on the blogs.

It was also great be able to customize an decorate the blog page. The only thing I didn't like was that at first it was very difficult to created an account on blogger, I even had to create a new gmail to create my blog. 

I don't think I would have preferred more academic writing, as the blog content we did this semester was fun to make and read, and I think it was good enough to learn more and improve my English.

A Good Place to Eat

Hi guys!

Today I am going to write about a good place to eat in Santiago. This place is called Montana Gelato, it is located in the Lastarria neighborhood, very close to the FAU.

Last semester I went very often. My friends and I were going for ice cream after classes  at the university. Sometimes we went more than once a week.

I remember that once it was raining and none of us had umbrellas, we carried a cardboard over our heads and ran to the place so we could have some ice cream.

This semester I have only gone once. It was last week, my friend Kate and I, after classes, went to get ice cream before returning home.

About the place, I know that it is related to the Brussels Heart of Chocolate establishment and that their ice creams are delicious. Also the place fills up very often, even at night the place is full of people.

I really like going there because I can try all the ice cream I want and they also usually give away small samples, I also think it's great that they have vegan and sugar-free ice creams, there really are options for all kinds of taste.

My favorite dish is one called "Plain Yogurt with Unlimited Toppings". The Yogurt has a very smooth flavor that combines perfectly with the toppings. The best thing is that you can fill your yogurt with toppings as many times as you want. I like to add strawberries, mango, and chocolate chips.

London Webquest

Hello again!

Today I would like to write about which of the activities in London I would like to do.

Firstly, I would like to visit Kew Botanic Gardens, as I really like the flowers, greenhouses and beautiful landscapes I could see there.

Also, the activities that are usually done there make me think it would be a fun experience.

On the other hand, I would like to go to the National Gallery since it has an impressive art collection. Also, it would be great to see the beauty of the neoclassical building up close.

British Council Learning English Website

Hi guys

Today I did an activity on conditionals in English and I want to tell you how it went.

I really liked that the website provides information and gives examples about conditionals, which helps to better understand grammar. Also, about the interactive part, it's great that there was no time limit, because I was able to take a few seconds to think carefully what to answer.

There is only thing that I did not like and that is the organization of the contents since the definitions of zero, first and second condicional are positioned after the first grammar test, I think it would be better if all the information was given first.

I think this website is recommended for anyone learning English, because it offers everything from structured lessons to interactive activities, it even gives you the option to evaluate your progress through test and even gives you feedback.

I would definitely return to this website several more times because it has a wide variety of educational contents and activities, and I think it could help me improve both English vocabulary and fluency effectively.

Despite the organization of the content of this activity I give it 9.5/10 because its educational content is really good and its organization is not a big problem, just an observation.

If I had to summarize the experience at the British Council Learning English, I would say that it was "very enriching and effective in improving English language skills"

Last Weekend

 Hello!

Today I would like to write about what I did last weekend. Well, last Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, was the cultural festival that celebrates the 25 years of Heritage Day. The truth is that I really wanted to go out and visit  some buildings, since in these days architecture and memory come together. But unfortunately I was very sick, so I stayed home all weekend.

On Saturday I did an assignment for the workshop subject about a place to set up a project with a public program. Then, I was preparing a presentation on the problems of modern architecture with my coworker over a phone call. After finishing the presentation we continued working together on our own tasks. I did not sleep at all. We started the call at 11:00 p.m on Saturday and hung up at 8:00 a.m on Sunday.

On Sunday I dedicated my time to advancing work for the workshop. I felt very sick, so that day I tried to rest. Then I saw a movie called "Medianeras", which is about Mariana and Martín, two neighbours who live opposite each other on the same block, their paths cross daily without knowing about each other, it was fun to watch, I recommend it to you.

Since I´m from the regions I was alone in Santiago all weekend, so I didn't really see anyone, and as I mentioned before, I was very sick so I didn't leave my house. The truth is it was a very boring weekend, but at least I made a lot of progress in my university assignments and I was able to fully recover!

A Exhibition

Hi guys!

Today I am going to write about an exhibition that I really enjoyed. It was in November of last year, at the Museum of Contemporary Art  which is in the Parque forestal, near our university.

It was fun because I went with some friends from college. We were inspired to do an artist residency project. There were many interesting and very beautiful works.

I think what I enjoyed most about this exhibition was that I got a lot of new ideas for my artist residency project. In addition, we measured the exhibition rooms and that helped me a lot to understand how I should create the spaces for my project.

On the other hand, I really enjoyed discussing ideas with my friends and exploring the place with them. My friend Renata invented a game, which consisted of choosing a room from time to time and classifying the works of art that where there. We also choose our favorites works and talk about it.

Something that highlight in the exhibition was the artistic intervention at the entrance, as the place is very high, the photos that hung were large and impressive.

Another thing that I really liked were some audiovisual works that were in various rooms. These works were projected on a large wall, it was impressive and the videos were very artistic and beautiful.

Country I would like to visit

 

Hello again!

Today I am going to write to you about a country that I would like to visit, it is Italy. I had the idea of traveling there for a while because of its fascinating historical, cultural and architectural heritage.

I would choose to travel by plane from Santiago directly to the capital of Italy, Rome, because it is a fast and efficient option. On the other hand, I think I would prefer to go alone since my main interest would be visiting cultural places and iconic architectural buildings, and I would like to follow my own schedule. 

If I were to stay in Rome, there are many things I would like to do, for example it would be great to visit the Colosseum built during the Roman Empire and take a guided tour. I would also like to visit the Sistine Chapel to see the ceiling painted by Michelangelo or go to the Trevi Fountain to toss a coin and make a wish. Also I would definitely like to eat in many restaurants and try many typical foods. 

As there are so many activities and places to discover in Italy, I think I would stay three or four weeks.

However, one reason to consider not going to Rome would be the large number of tourist, especially in high season, this can make visits to tourist site less pleasant due to long lines and crowds.
